Beef Mushroom Broccoli

Fire up your wok with this healthy and savory Pinoy recipe of beef, oyster mushroom and broccoli stir fried in oyster sauce.

Ingredients for 3

  • 1/2 kg. beef cut into strips
  • 1/4 kg. oyster mushroom
  • 1/2 kg. broccoli
  • 3 gloves garlic
  • 1 onion
  • 3 tbs. oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp. cornstarch
  • 1/2 cold water
  • salt and pepper
  • quail eggs for garnish

Buy broccoli in heads – dark green florets and firm stalks. Avoid broccoli with yellowing florets.

Oyster sauce is always available in Chinese supermarkets

Beef Mushroom Broccoli

TIPS: Make sure the wok is hot – really hot. Pre-heat the wok until it starts to smoke then start the stir fry. No need to put add water because the oyster mushrooms got a lot of moisture. You can add a few drops of sesame oil in the cornstarch mixture for added Asian flavor.

Best with fried rice. A dash of ground cayenne pepper will give it some kick. Kain na!
